R2E
EMIR regulatory Reporting
R2E is ARENA solution for facilitating comprehensive regulatory reporting management by automating processes that ensure information is handled correctly and communicated to the central operations repository. Intraday liquidity management is one of the biggest challenges facing financial institutions today.
WHY DOES IT HAPPEN?
The regulatory framework of the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) came into force in August 2012, establishing a series of key requirements for derivatives, including settlement, clearing, reporting, and margins.
A fundamental part of EMIR's entry into force is the obligation to report all traded derivative contracts (OTC and ETD) and their details to a Trade Repository.
WHO DOES THIS APPLY TO?
EMIR applies to all market participants involved in derivative transactions, defined as any bilateral or exchange transaction between two counterparties.
This therefore includes financial institutions such as investment banks, brokers, and asset management firms, as well as non-financial corporations that trade in derivative instruments for their own business needs.
